How Parquet Flooring Works
Parquet flooring can be used to create geometric designs which create a uniform design. Other than other wood floors the design is much more uniform. This was traditionally done by hand however increasingly machines are doing this job. Pieces of hardwood are cut so that they are the same size and then glued down onto a softwood backing. These create a block of patterns. This is a very similar idea to when working with ceramic tiles.

To make this a possibility you should take lots of care when installing these floors as they are quite expensive. Sealing is of the Utmost Importance
You use small blocks to create the floor and so there will be small gaps which is enough for water to get through. It is important that you make sure you properly seal the surface to prevent these gaps becoming a problem. The blocks should be fitted as tightly as possible together and then sealed so moisture cannot get inside the wood.
