Plumbing With A Heat Gun

Heat guns have become very popular for many uses in the plumbing industry. The portable and handy heat gun is the plumber?s best friend with a variety of uses on the jobsite. Because of their dependability and ease of use they are used extensively for running and repairing plumbing.

Plumbing jobs can be sped up considerably with the use of a heat gun. PVC pipes can be bent with the use of a heat gun, which makes plumbing lines run smoother and cuts down on the joins that are needed. Traditionally the plumber would have to add an elbow at every corner, but with the use of a heat gun and a special wire coil they can easily bend the PVC pipe to the desired angle. Not only is this faster and easier than using PVC adhesive but it is stronger. Besides not having to wait to run water through the glued joints plumbers also appreciate the absence of the sticky mess of the adhesives and cleaners traditionally used for making joints.

Of course there are times when it is necessary to have a joint in the pipeline, but because of the handy heat gun the plumber still doesn’t have to resort to smelly glues. The end of the hose or pipe is heated with the heat gun then pushed into the joint piece. The hot plastic expands and contracts, making a much tighter join.

Heat guns can be used to shape PVC pipe and to form tight joints. These fast and easy uses of the heat gun make it a favorite tool among plumbers. Heat guns are a valuable and handy tool to run or repair PVC pipelines.
